Bopsoo Stream
Bopsuchiri (the upper stream of Namdaecheon): This stream is a
typical hatchery for Cherry trout and Chum salmon. The long stream
and thick forest create a stable environment that is ideal for the
breeding and growth of Cherry trout. It ranks as a Top Cherry trout
stream. This stream starts from the Duru ridges of Ohdae Mt. Down
through the small town of OeseongJeon then into Namdaecheon. This
stream holds many Cherry trout.
Namdaecheon has two other big tributaries; Ohsak Cheon rising from
JeomBong Mt. and Gal Cheon rising from Kuryoungryong. These two
streams both contain a number of fine Cherry trout but the fishing
in Ohsak stream is poor because of the resort located uptream.

How to get to Bopsuchiri: First by plane: Fly into YangYang. Go
to the town of YangYang and take Nat'l road #59. After about 22km
you will arrive in Oeseongjeon. After passing the small bridge YoungCheon,
turn left onto the unpaved (rocky dirt) road for about 11km to Bopsuchiri.
Second is to take the highway. From Seoul take highway #1 or highway
#10 to Hopob I.C. Take highway #50 (YongDong Highway) to Kangnung.
From Kangnung take Nat'l road #7 North to HyunBook and take local
road #415. After about 18km you will arrive in Oeseongjeon. After
passing a small bridge YoungCheon turn left onto an unpaved road
for about 11 km to Bopsuchiri.

For fishing this field, you need to prepare more than in other
streams. Only at entrance, there are some restaurants and lodges
. The road is too dumpy to go back to the outskirts of the village
for just getting something you need. Though, you may caught many
native Cherry trouts.
It's not good idea to go to Bopsoo only for a day fishing. It' s
too long from Seoul and dumpy in part.
But for ones who enjoy alpine fishing, this field is paradise.
